I am with you on this one. Dave Mason wrote some terrific tunes. Alone Together and Headkeeper were especially good records. Had all the Traffic albums way back when (mid 70s), and today have them all on cd. Used to listen to them, especially Low Spark and John Barleycorn over and over. And Welcome to the Canteen, when Dave joined in again. Never had the chance to see them, but did catch a great Dave Mason show many years ago in Central Park. I think his hit at that time was ‘We just disagree’, but the set was rocking. I play the Very Best of Dave Mason album at work sometimes, and as you might expect, everyone usually thinks that Joe Cocker wrote ‘Feelin’ Alright.’ Remember that live Delaney and Bonnie album with Dave and Clapton? Good stuff, glad you brought it up.

Cool stuff - you set me off on a quite nice youtube expedition. Both those songs you linked were on the album (On Tour w/Eric Clapton) and they also did Dave Mason’s ‘Only You Know and I Know’. I loved the sound of that all-star band. George Harrison joined in sometimes under the pseudonym L'Angelo Misterioso. I see that Rhino has a four disc/52 track box set from that tour(s) for $80, but I can’t afford that.

Thank you so much my friend. I would never have found that. Listening to it now – I have a copy of the lp on an ancient cassette that is pretty murky. This is a good moment, you should know how sweet it is, I’m going to make a copy for my brother.
